On Urban Redevelopment and Socially Integrative City Day, the team from the Urban Redevelopment and Socially Integrative City department will present two milestones in the building refurbishment measures in the redevelopment area of the Ostsiedlung and Westsiedlung:

Emsstrasse 7 and 9: Starting with the exemplary refurbishment of the houses at Emsstrasse 7 and 9, the majority of the 163 buildings with almost 700 apartments owned by REA Wohnen GmbH in the Ostsiedlung will gradually be completely renovated and modernized in terms of energy efficiency. The special feature is the façade insulation: the building will be "packed" into prefabricated timber frame modules fitted with appropriate insulating materials.

Rheinstraße 1 and 3: The 146 apartments in "Engeroder Straße" and "Rheinstraße" were purchased by the city of Salzgitter with major financial support from the state of Lower Saxony and are being modernized and renovated in stages.

Visitors can obtain information and view the buildings. In addition to a presentation of the conversion plans, the construction measures in Emsstraße will be visualized with clips. The team from the Urban Redevelopment and Socially Integrative City department will be on hand to answer questions and provide information.
