Top talents from the music school at the concert at the start of the year

The first music school concert of the year was a complete success: the guests in the packed hall of the Alte Feuerwache gave the scholarship holders of the sponsoring institutions and the winners of the "Jugend musiziert" competition a huge round of applause.

Successful concert kick-off at the Alte Feuerwache: there was much applause for the scholarship holders of the sponsoring institutions and for the winners of the "Jugend musiziert" competition.

Sabine Petter, director of the music school, was delighted with the great response and introduced the top talents performing at the beginning.

Former scholarship holder and winner of the Jugend-musiziert prize, Evelin Wollny, opened the concert. She played the chorale "Jesu bleibet meine Freude" by Johann Sebastian Bach on her viola.

Afterwards, Barbara Rother, as a member of the board of the Friends' Association, gave an insight into the work of the association and at the same time drew attention to the support provided by membership. Four scholarships were awarded last year. Leon Habermann, who played a piece by Georg Philipp Telemann that evening, gave a convincing performance on the recorder. Stella Werner and Zi Han Jayden Sun were awarded scholarships for their achievements on the piano, which they used for their intensive preparation for the "Jugend musiziert" competition. Both won first prize on January 18. They performed pieces by Edvard Grieg and Ludwig van Beethoven from their programs. The fourth scholarship holder, Patrick Lyson, performed the song "Halo" by Beoncé Knowles.

Recorder player Matilda Plaschke, who has also been very successful at "Jugend musiziert", benefited from the Zonta Club scholarship. She performed two pieces by Nicolas Chédeville.

Erva Su Eraslan, who had previously been self-taught on the piano, received a scholarship from the Salzgitter Lions Club. She interpreted the piece "Van Gogh" by Virginio Aiello.

Justus Buttke also took the opportunity to take part in this year's competition. He is also one of the current "Jugend musiziert" prizewinners and impressed the audience with the 3rd Hungarian Rhapsody by Franz Liszt.

Luca Gruner, Viktoria Dordiai, Artem and Alina Opykhailo, Carmen Ledwig, Nadia Kerknawi and Gregor Ishikawa Sintram impressed the audience in equal measure and rounded off the special concert with their equally impressive performances. The program included "Pirates of the Caribbean" and works by Sofia Asgatovna Gubaidulina, Alexander Tikhonovich Grechaninov, Dmitri Shostakovich, Robert Schumann, Anton Diabelli, Edvard Grieg and Manuel Rodriguez.

Individual contributions were accompanied by Natalia Gamper and Damian Galinski on the grand piano and by Annette Boenkendorf on the recorder.
