The alert is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on that day. The all-clear will be given at approximately 11:45 a.m. The warning being tested will be disseminated via various warning apps (e.g., Nina and BIWAPP), cell broadcast, television and radio stations, news agencies, and the city’s siren network. In addition, announcements will be made via mobile siren systems to issue the warning and all-clear.

An additional alert message will also be displayed on the homepage of the city’s website.

Background information:

There are 57 sirens located throughout the city that will be activated on this day. These are high-powered electronic sirens that, in addition to emitting warning signals, are also capable of broadcasting voice announcements. The nationwide warning day provides the City of Salzgitter’s civil protection agency with a good opportunity to test the functionality of all sirens simultaneously.
