• there must be at least 7 living children with the child to be honored,
• the children must be descended from the same parents/mother/father,
• the child to be honored must be a German citizen.

Honorary sponsorship is only granted once in a family. Within the limits of the funds available, the Federal President will grant the sponsored child a monetary gift.
