Prerequisites for granting are:
- Completion of the 18th year of age,
- Personal suitability,
- Liability insurance,
- reliability,
- expertise and
- need.
Reliability is checked by the competent authority. Proof of firearms expertise must be provided by the applicant. A need can only be recognized if the applicant is demonstrably at significantly greater risk than the general public.
The fees for issuing a firearms license amount to a minimum of €110 and a maximum of €270, depending on the case constellation and processing time.
