Resident parking permits entitle the holder to use marked parking spaces (resident parking spaces) in the vicinity of their own apartment. Marked parking spaces are available in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt and Salzgitter-Bad. To use these parking spaces, you can apply for a resident's parking permit if you are registered as having your main place of residence in the district in question and you are the owner or user of a motor vehicle.

The resident parking permit is issued to you for one year.

The resident parking permit can be

• in person or
• by an authorized representative

be applied for.

The "craftsman parking permit" is an exemption permit for stopping / parking in the city area of Salzgitter to carry out repair, maintenance and assembly work. This permit is only valid for vehicles used to carry out the above-mentioned work and only for the duration of the work.

The craftsman parking permit entitles the holder to park

•  in restricted no-parking zones
• in resident parking zones
• in metered parking zones without activating the parking ticket machine

Craft businesses and other businesses that carry out repair, construction, maintenance and / or assembly work outside their own premises and use a service or workshop vehicle that is urgently needed in the immediate vicinity of the place of use are eligible to apply.

Requirements for the issue of a craftsman's parking permit

• The company must be registered with the Chamber of Skilled Crafts or be a member of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
• The vehicles must be registered to the company; leased vehicles must be verified by submitting the corresponding contract or, if applicable, the corresponding insurance documents
• The vehicles must not exceed a total weight of 3.5 tons and must be suitable for transporting materials (e.g. vans, panel vans, estate cars)
