It triggers investments in Salzgitter with a volume of almost 1.9 million euros and is geared towards the strategic goal of Mayor Frank Klingebiel of making Salzgitter a child and family-friendly learning city.
In detail, the funding from federal funds amounts to over 1.3 million euros and around 264,000 euros from state funds. The difference of 336,000 euros is covered by the city of Salzgitter from its budget. And here are the ten projects:
- The chemistry classroom at Emil-Langen-Realschule is being renovated for 162,000 euros
- The Kranich-Gymnasium is getting a new physics classroom for 124,000 euros
- 110,000 euros have been earmarked for the renovation of the nature (biology) classroom at An der Klunkau secondary school
- 123,000 euros for the renovation of the home economics classroom (including theory and storage room) at the Dr. Klaus Schmidt secondary school
- Two biology classrooms at Amselstieg primary and secondary school will be renovated for 187,000 euros
- Two biology classrooms and a physics classroom at Salzgitter-Bad grammar school are also being renovated at a cost of 290,000 euros
- The physics classroom at the Hauptschule am Fredenberg will be partially renovated for 15,000 euros
- 437,000 euros for the renovation of three biology, physics and chemistry classrooms as well as the preparation and collection area at Fredenberg secondary school
- 15,000 euros will go to the Schule am Steinberg for the renovation of a nature (crafts) classroom
- 149,000 euros have been earmarked for the energy refurbishment of the Thiede secondary school (roof insulation) and
- 255,000 for the same purpose at Salzgitter-Bad grammar school for the gymnasium, assembly hall, connecting corridors and special wing.
