The department has the following tasks:

• Planning and design of the public road network
• Construction and construction supervision
• Maintenance of bridges and culverts
• Maintenance of roads
• Construction and maintenance of traffic lights and street lighting
• Sovereign tasks of urban drainage and landfill construction
