Registration of a vehicle that has already been registered abroad (non-EU country) is possible on application. Registration is issued by the competent registration authority. If you buy a used vehicle abroad or move to Germany with a vehicle registered in your name abroad, you must apply for registration for this vehicle.
Registering a vehicle that was previously registered abroad is more complicated than registering a new vehicle or transferring it, as more documents are required.
