Women's shelters provide protection, advice, support and assistance to all women threatened or affected by psychological, physical and/or sexual and domestic violence and their children, as well as women affected by stalking (persecution, harassment by admirers). They provide information about the help available and show ways to end the violence and provide acute crisis intervention at any time. This service is also aimed at relatives, caregivers and professional helpers of those affected.
As a rule, women's shelters are run by associations. They are financially supported by public grants.

The shelter offers 10 places. Girls are accepted at any age, boys up to the age of 12. The staff can refer to other women's shelters if the shelter is full or if older boys belong to the family.

The women organize their daily lives themselves and look after themselves and their children independently. If they have any questions, the staff are on hand with help and advice.
Of course, the women and their children are allowed to move around freely, continue to attend kindergarten and school, go shopping, etc.
