Description
You can obtain a residence permit for a study-related internship in the EU if you
- have earned a college degree in a non-EU country within the last 2 years prior to submitting your application, or
- are currently pursuing a degree program in a third country that leads to a higher education degree.
A third country is a country outside the EU and the European Economic Area (EEA).
For this purpose, a higher education institution is defined as any educational institution that grants a degree comparable to a higher education degree that could be earned in Germany. Comparability is determined according to the assessment recommendations of the Central Office for Foreign Education. The internship must correspond to the field of study and academic level of your degree program or degree.
You may not take on any employment during your stay.
If you are under 18 years of age, the person with parental authority must consent to your planned stay.
The residence permit for a study-related internship is temporary. It is issued for the agreed duration of the internship, but for no more than 6 months.
