Description
You can obtain a residence permit for a study-related internship in the EU if you
- have obtained a university degree in a third country in the last 2 years before submitting the application or
- are still studying for a university degree in a third country.
A third country is a country outside the EU and the European Economic Area (EEA).
A higher education institution is any educational institution that offers a degree that is comparable to a higher education degree that could be obtained in Germany. Comparability is based on the assessment recommendations of the Central Office for Foreign Education. The internship must correspond to the degree course or university degree in terms of subject and level.
You cannot take up employment during your stay.
If you have not yet reached the age of 18, the person entitled to take care of you must agree to your planned stay.
The residence permit for a study-related internship is limited in time. It is issued for the agreed duration of the internship, but for a maximum of 6 months.
