Psychotherapy may only be practiced by individuals who have received the appropriate training. You may practice it if you are licensed

• as a psychotherapist or
• a physician.

If you do not hold this license, you may also practice as a non-medical practitioner in psychotherapy. To do so, you need:

• an unrestricted license or
• a license restricted to the field of psychotherapy

As a non-medical practitioner in the field of psychotherapy, you can support people in various crisis situations.

However, the following are not permitted:

• dispensing medications that are available only at pharmacies
• prescribing prescription-only medications
• issuing medical certificates or sick notes

The professional title “psychotherapist” is protected. As a naturopath, you are not permitted to use this title.
