Route determination of dangerous goods transports: Issuing - individual route determination

Description

Description

In order to ensure the greatest possible safety during the transportation of dangerous goods, special regulations apply to the transportation of dangerous goods. Dangerous goods are defined as substances and objects which, due to their properties or condition, pose a risk to public safety and order during transportation and/or may harm human life and health, nature or important common goods.

For certain dangerous goods, a routing regulation is required in accordance with Section 35a of the Ordinance on the National and International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road, Rail and Inland Waterways (GGVSEB). These result from § 35 b GGVSEB. In principle, the transport of these dangerous goods is to be carried out on the federal highways (except for some specific sections).

For the area outside the federal highway, the transport requires an individual route determination by the competent authority in accordance with § 35 a Para. 3 GGVSEB. This is issued for a limited or unlimited number of journeys within a certain period of time.

The route determination can also be made by general order. Please note the further information on this in the service " Route determination of dangerous goods transports: Issuance - general ruling ".
