If, in a specific case, conducting business conflicts with the requirements or prohibitions of the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO), an exemption may be requested. This applies, for example, to exemptions

• from the regulations governing road use,
• the prohibition on entering a highway or expressway or using such roads with vehicles not authorized to do so,
• exceptions to the rules on stopping and parking,
• regulations regarding the dimensions of vehicles and loads,
• regulations regarding the use of seat belts and the wearing of protective helmets,
• the Sunday and holiday driving ban,
• the prohibition on placing obstacles on the road,
• the prohibitions on using loudspeakers and offering goods or services on the street,
• the prohibition on advertising and propaganda in connection with traffic signs,
• the prohibitions or restrictions imposed by regulatory or directional signs, as well as
• the nighttime and Sunday and holiday parking bans for motor vehicles weighing more than 7.5 metric tons and trailers weighing more than 2 metric tons in residential areas.
