A protected cultural monument may only be destroyed

• destroyed, demolished, dismantled or removed,
• reshaped or otherwise altered in its existence,
• impaired in its appearance other than temporarily (e.g. by advertising),
• removed from its location.

The authorization requirement also applies to

• the non-temporary removal of accessories of an immovable protected cultural monument that forms a unit worthy of preservation with the monument, and
• the erection, alteration and removal of structures in the vicinity of an immovable protected cultural monument that may affect the appearance of the monument.

Permission can be granted subject to conditions, e.g. an expert can be ordered to supervise the measure.
