Description
Special obligations apply to events with animals. As the organizer, you may have to notify the competent veterinary office.
This includes dog shows or cat shows and similar events in an area at risk of rabies or where dogs and/or cats from EU member states or third countries are taking part.
Depending on the animal species and the current epidemiological situation, events may be subject to different conditions. Under certain circumstances, the competent authority may restrict or prohibit events of this type. The competent authority will inform you of any restrictions or bans. Dog shows are subject to random checks.
A permit from the competent authority is required for commercial dog or cat shows in accordance with Section 11 (1) sentence 1 no. 8 letter d of the Animal Welfare Act. For dog shows, Section 10 of the Animal Protection Dog Ordinance must also be observed.
