Caregivers in full-time care (§ 33 SGB VIII) and suitable caregivers in the placement of a mentally disabled young person (§ 35a para. 2 sentence 2 no. 3 SGB VIII) can receive half of the subsidy for an appropriate pension plan. This also applies to weekly care.

The pension allowance is granted to one foster carer. In the case of pairs of foster parents, the main carer (according to the assistance plan) receives the subsidy. If both foster parents are named in the assistance plan, this is usually the person with the lower volume of employment if both foster parents work different hours. In the case of equal employment volumes, the foster parents determine which of them should receive the pension allowance.
