• Family mentors: help families in everyday situations as required
• Language mentors: promote the language skills of children and young people through games and targeted exercises at school and support families in dealing with the school system.
• Language mediators: accompany children to doctors, authorities and other institutions.
• Relocation mentors: provide support in the new situation before, after and during the move.
• Leisure time mentors: help people with a migration background to actively organize their leisure time and develop options for social integration.

Volunteers in Salzgitter have the opportunity to complete an additional qualification to become an integration guide.

The qualification in the form of a basic module trains them in a wide range of topics relating to working with migrants.

The aim of the assignment is to support and supplement the work of the employees at our cooperation partners.

The basic prerequisite for the work of the integration guides is political and religious neutrality and, above all, a willingness to strengthen equal rights between women and men.

The training and further training of the integration guides, as well as their deployment, is managed centrally by the Integration Department of the City of Salzgitter, taking all interests into account.

Interested parties can prepare for their volunteer work by asking the following questions:
