Unemployment benefit II

The basic income support for jobseekers replaced the previous form of unemployment assistance and social welfare on January 1, 2005.

In addition, it is intended to facilitate integration into working life. In principle, all people between the ages of 15 and 65 who are capable of working and in need of assistance are entitled to basic security benefits for the unemployed. The assistance is provided in the form of services, benefits in kind and cash benefits. People in need of assistance who are capable of work receive cash benefits in the form of unemployment benefit II, while their dependants receive social benefit.
