The focus of the program "Les doux reflets de Versailles" is the courtly dance music of the Baroque period, as it flourished at the great European courts. Inspired by the magnificent Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles - a center of cultural radiance under Louis XIV - the "Barock_Plus" ensemble dedicates itself to musical works that had an influence far beyond France.
With music by George Frideric Handel, Antonio Vivaldi, Marin Marais and François Couperin, the ensemble paints a sonorous portrait of a time when courtly dances were not only part of the entertainment, but also an expression of political and cultural power. The selection combines baroque dance suites, virtuoso variations and colorful character pieces that were heard in the ballrooms of Europe.
The "Barock_Plus" ensemble is one of the most promising young formations in early music. Within a short space of time, it has received several international awards and has impressed both the jury and the audience with its stylistic confidence, expressive interpretation and innovative concert design. The musicians got to know each other at the Nuremberg University of Music and have since dedicated themselves with great dedication to bringing early music to life.
