A quality-assured counseling service offered by the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired of Lower Saxony (BVN) for people with visual impairments, as well as for those whose condition may lead to vision loss and their family members.

Anyone interested is cordially invited to visit the information bus in the Lebenstedt pedestrian zone to receive free information and counseling.

The “Blickpunkt-Auge” counselors are mostly people with visual impairments themselves and can offer expert advice and assistance! On board the counseling van, you’ll find plenty of informational materials, a screen reader, and many other assistive devices that you’re welcome to try out for free.

The association provides information, advice, and support on a wide range of topics related to eye disease and living with a visual impairment, such as:

• visual and other assistive devices,
• tips and assistance for daily life with a visual impairment,
• legal and financial entitlements,
• rehabilitation training (orientation and mobility, daily living skills),
• vocational rehabilitation, and
• coping with illness.

The association expressly points out that it does not perform eye exams and that a visit to the Infomobil is not a substitute for seeing an ophthalmologist.
