Tobias Reifland and his piano partner are passionately dedicated to the repertoire for viola and piano - an instrumentation that promises intimacy and depth. At the heart of the program is Franz Schubert's Sonata in A minor D 821, better known as the Arpeggione Sonata. Originally composed for the now almost forgotten instrument arpeggione, this work has developed into one of the most beautiful and impressive pieces of Romantic chamber music, especially on the viola.
In addition to the Arpeggione Sonata, you will hear works that showcase the variety of sounds and expressive power of the viola in a special way. Look forward to an evening full of musical discoveries, touching melodies and the finest art of sound.
