All running enthusiasts, families, groups of friends, companies, clubs and walkers are invited to a sporting day for a good cause.
The focus is not on best times, but on community, the joy of exercise and a shared commitment to Salzgitter. Whether you are an ambitious runner, relaxed walker, young talent or relay team, there is something for every age group and fitness level at the foundation run.
New this year:
The start and finish will be at the DLRG station on Salzgittersee from 10:30 am.
Routes
The following routes and start times are planned:
- 10:30 am: running approx. 10.8 km, two lake laps
- 10:30 am: Running approx. 5.4 km, one lake loop
- 10:40 am: walking approx. 5.4 km, one lake loop
- 12:00 p.m.: Children's run approx. 0.6 km, triangle charging station
- 12:30 p.m.: Relay run approx. 1.2 km, 4 x lap of the playing field
Course profile: 100 percent asphalt, flat (18 hm)
The entry fees are:
- Shorty run: 5 euros, age group 2014 and younger
- Running/walking: 10 euros, age groups 2016 and younger
- Relay race: 20 euros, age groups 2016 and younger
A special highlight this year: the first 50 registrations start free of charge.
"We would like to reward those who register quickly," explains Christiane Voss, board member of the Salzgitter Community Foundation and co-organizer of the event. "We've had more than 300 participants in previous years. Of course, we want to top that together this year." For years, the event has thrived on its family atmosphere and the idea of working together to do something good for the region. The proceeds from the entry fees will once again benefit charitable projects in Salzgitter. "The foundation run has long been more than just a sporting event," continues Christiane Voss. "It's a day when people come together, meet each other and show how much cohesion there is in our city."
Braunschweigische Landessparkasse is once again supporting the event as a partner. "The foundation run combines exercise, health and social commitment in a very special way," explains Thomas Wolff, Head of the Salzgitter branches of Braunschweigische Landessparkasse. "It is precisely events like this that strengthen togetherness in the region and deserve support." Registration is now open. Interested parties can register conveniently online using the QR code. Further information will be published via the official channels of the Salzgitter Community Foundation. The starting documents can be collected from the race office from 9:00 am on the day of the event. Sufficient parking spaces are available on site.
