To celebrate World Children’s Day, the “Alliance for Family, Upbringing, and Education in Salzgitter,” together with the City of Salzgitter, invites everyone to the “Salzgitter Plays” festival at Salzgittersee in Lebenstedt.

All children and families are invited to join the fun on Saturday, September 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on the lawn near the pirate playground.

At “Salzgitter Plays,” children and their parents can try out popular games and activities every year on World Children’s Day. This way, young and old alike can get moving while having lots of fun—running, throwing, hopping, swinging the parachute together, or practicing their balance.

Every child can pick up a card to collect stamps at the various stations—where they’ll have fun and earn stamps along the way. Various skill-building exercises, a balance trail, jumping, throwing, and similar activities make for a cheerful afternoon. There’s plenty to experience at the 15 activity stations, especially since the activities and game ideas are designed so that both preschool and elementary school children can participate and have fun.

Children ages 3 to 10 can look forward to a wide range of play and physical activity options.

Admission and participation are free! No registration is required—just stop by and have fun!

What is “Salzgitter spielt,” and who is behind it?

“Salzgitter Plays” was launched over fifteen years ago by the “Leben mit Kindern” alliance in close cooperation with the city administration to raise awareness of children’s rights and needs on the occasion of World Children’s Day on September 20.

The festival has remained true to its original concept for years, relying on simple resources and a dedicated team of volunteers from across the alliance. Their goal is to offer families in Salzgitter an entertaining afternoon. Of course, participation is free of charge, and everyone is welcome.

The “Living with Children” Alliance in Salzgitter includes the two family education centers as the initiators, as well as daycare centers, specialized services of the city administration, counseling centers, welfare organizations, associations and aid organizations, the Jobcenter, the police prevention team, and representatives of the housing sector.
