The Salzgitter Tourist Information Office and city guide Dieter Krüger are organizing a varied city tour along the Salzgitter-Bad golf course.
From the starting point at the Union Stadium parking lot, the tour starts at 1 p.m. and takes a relaxed walk through the autumn-colored forest towards Liebenburg. It is advisable to take a camera or smartphone with you to capture the "dialog" of the artworks set up along the way with nature and the surrounding landscape in beautiful pictures.
Various artists from all over the world have left a piece of history in Salzgitter-Bad. The sculpture trail is part of the "Road of Peace" based on an idea by the painter and sculptor Otto Freundlich, who described a road of sculptures from Paris to Moscow in Paris in 1928. The now 10 sculptures in the southern part of Salzgitter-Bad are all made of steel, reflecting the connection to the industrial location and its history. At the same time, the objects are also in close dialog with the surroundings and nature.
In addition to providing background information on the artists and their works, city guide Dieter Krüger also explains the special features of the city's history, especially that of Salzgitter-Bad, making the art-cultural tour very entertaining overall. Along the golf course, you will pass the sculptures "Swords to Ploughshares" and "Jacob's Ladder", both designed by Prof. Gerd Winner from Liebenburg. As curator, Prof. Winner played a significant role in shaping the sculpture trail.
A participation fee of 5 euros will be charged in cash on site.
