Date & time
The High Command of the Wehrmacht regarded Soviet prisoners of war as a potential danger even after their capture. This was one of the reasons why the prisoners were systematically undersupplied and died in large numbers, especially in the first few months.
But what was the situation like in Salzgitter? In which camps were the prisoners held, and which individual fates can still be traced today?
