Sailing and Motorboat License Training for Inland Waterways or Seawater Routes

At the Salzgitter Sailing Club, you can learn to sail and/or operate motorboats from the very beginning in a friendly community.
Experienced club members lead the two different courses for sailing and motorboat license training for inland or marine waterways.

No prior experience is required. An information evening will be held on Thursday, October 29, at 7:00 p.m. at the Sailing Club’s clubhouse, Zum Salzgittersee 46, in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt. There, you can get a first impression of the training, the instructors, and the participants—with no obligation—and have all your questions answered.

Inland Waters Course: Theoretical training begins on Thursday, November 5

Here, the training focuses on the basic skills of sailing a dinghy and operating a small motorboat. The “Inland Course” always takes place on Thursdays at the sailing club; it begins with theory training, followed by practical training in early summer on Salzgittersee. At the end of the course, you’ll earn the: Sport Boat License for Inland Waters (SBF-Binnen for short) for both motorboats and sailboats. Valid for inland waters, rivers, and lakes. For sailboats and dinghies, as well as motorboats with 15 PS or more.

2. Recreational Coastal Boating License (SKS for short):
This so-called “sailing yacht license” covers in detail the operation and navigation of a sailing yacht and is also very often required when chartering yachts. A prerequisite for obtaining the SKS is holding the SBF-See.
