Interested citizens of Salzgitter founded the Arbeitskreis Stadtgeschichte e.V. in 1983.
The aim formulated at that time of being an "association for researching and communicating history and the present" is still being carried forward 40 years later thanks to the voluntary commitment of the association's members.

This time, participants will be able to look at photos of various events from the 1990s, categorize and collate the information. Where was that? Who can I recognize? What else can I say about it?

With the participation of interested parties and contemporary witnesses and their new findings, it will be possible to answer unanswered questions, complete archive holdings, but also to further document the history of the association and memorial site.

The number of participants is limited. Registration at the association office by April 24, 2026 is required. You are welcome to state your personal connection to the topic.
