The event kicks off at the Harz and Heide grounds in Braunschweig: At 1 p.m., a memorial service will be held to honor the motorcyclists who lost their lives in accidents in 2026. Starting at 10 a.m., the motorcycles will begin rolling into the grounds there before the convoy sets off together toward Salzgitter.
At Reppnersche Bucht on Salzgittersee in Lebenstedt, the remembrance—and the celebration—will continue starting at 1:00 p.m.: At the Road Safety Day featuring a biker party, informational booths will be combined with live music, family activities, and a genuine festival atmosphere right on the lake.
A central moment remains the joint commemoration: At 7 p.m., the Salzgitter Fire Department will light a bonfire. At 7:30 p.m., the wooden crosses bearing the names of motorcyclists who died in accidents in 2025—which were not claimed last year—will be symbolically burned in the fire.
Organizers
The event is organized by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Christlicher Motorradfahrer/innen Braunschweiger Land (acm) together with the City of Salzgitter's cultural services - supported by the police, fire department and around 100 volunteers.
