The dazzling Patricia Vonne from the Texan music stronghold of Austin creates a special southern sound, paired with the corridas and rancheras from her Mexican heritage; straightforward and without any frippery.
The singer, composer, actress and sister of cult director Robert Rodriguez is undoubtedly as flamboyant a character as the characters that populate her brother's films. She puts herself in the limelight impressively and knows no inhibitions, be it with grandiose rock'n'roll poses or the virtuoso handling of castanets.
handling castanets.
Vonne's new work "My Heart's Got A Mind of Its Own" combines all the multifaceted elements that define her musical persona. Rock, folk, flamenco, Tex-Mex and a touch of Latin create a rich and colorful overall picture that is simply harmonious and unique.
The title track was co-written with the legendary Chris Isaak. The tenth album also contains two Spanish songs that Vonne wrote for the movie Switch-up by director Tara Pirnia.
