For years, the multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer was in demand as a sideman on saxophone and flute live and in the studio for established scene heavyweights such as Randy Crawford, Phil Collins, Mousse T., Jazzkantine, Bahama Soul Club and Spice. At the same time, he worked on his own projects such as the German-African project "Culture Clan", with which he landed a No. 1 hit in South Africa and won an award.
Triggered by the pandemic, YORK is now realizing his preference for jazz and soul with the album "The SoulJazz Experience". With inserts and samples from the 60s film music flair, he creates a reference to his work in theater and film and shows his secret love for DJing with scratches. His many years of experience on stage and his collaboration on over 100 CD productions give him a sovereignty that seems to come naturally. Impressive is the constant balance between musical accuracy and the courage to play analog tracks. YORK audibly and tangibly enjoys his new creative freedom. Both as a composer, arranger and producer - and of course as a performing musician! And now with an outstanding live band!
