Fiber optic expansion in the Fuchsbach industrial estate

Costs and funding of the project

This is primarily made possible by the fiber optic expansion funded by the federal government and the state of Lower Saxony.

The entire project has a cost volume of 143,993.11 euros.

  • The city of Salzgitter is covering 15 percent of the costs.

The remaining 85 percent of the costs are financed by subsidies:

  • 71,996.55 euros of this is being financed by funds from the EU's European Regional Development Fund (ERDF funding).
(The ERDF helps to reduce regional imbalances by providing structural and financial support to disadvantaged economic areas).
  • The state of Lower Saxony is supporting the project with EUR 50,397.59 from the "Promotion of financially weak municipalities in the co-financing of EU funding projects".
(Since 2020, the Ministry of Federal and European Affairs and Regional Development has been using the "Co-financing assistance" guideline to support financially weak local authorities in Lower Saxony that are unable to raise the necessary own contributions to co-finance EU funding projects).
