Children and young people grieve differently to adults. They can experience feelings such as anger, sadness, shame, guilt, loneliness, various forms of fear, love, affection, loss of protection and much more as completely life-threatening.
The following goals are to be achieved with the children's and young people's grief group work:
- Children, young people and their caregivers should be given space and various creative, creative opportunities to perceive their feelings, be able to express them and learn to accept them.
- By coming together with people who have experienced similar things, individuals should realize that they are not alone.
- All participants can learn and experience that there is no feeling that is only "good" or only "bad", but that it is about maintaining a balance.
- All participants should learn that dealing with grief can be healing and open up new paths.
