The "patient card" is a handy card with important information for treatment in an emergency. Folded in A7 format, it is handy enough for a handbag or wallet and still offers enough space for handwritten entries with personal medical data and special features about the patient. Standardized emergency numbers are also noted for the user.

The "patient card" is intended to improve communication between the patient, their social environment and the clinic and make a small contribution to the necessary communication in an emergency. Personal details about the patient and the doctors providing treatment are handwritten on the "patient card". Regulations and desired treatment and handling procedures in an emergency are also recorded.

The patient card is issued by the health department of the city of Salzgitter. It is also available at the Citizens' Centers in the town halls in Lebenstedt and Salzgitter-Bad as well as at the Salzgitter senior citizens' office.
