Several services come together in a network.
Social psychiatry deals with mental disorders.
Mental disorders are psychological disorders.
For example:
- Anxiety,
- sadness,
- or when you hear voices.
A social-psychiatric network ensures
- cooperation between help providers.
The help is for people with mental health problems.
- ensures that the various services work well together.
People with mental disorders should be well cared for.
The rural districts and towns join forces.
They form the social-psychiatric associations.
All care providers should be represented in a network.
The social-psychiatric associations should also
work together with other associations in the neighborhood.
That is what this law says:
Lower Saxony law on assistance
and protective measures for the mentally ill.
In short: NpsychKG.
Is a support provider planning important changes to support services?
They must inform the Social-Psychiatric Network immediately.
The Social-Psychiatric Service manages the business of the
Social-Psychiatric Network.
This means that the Social-Psychiatric Network:
- is the contact partner for help providers,
- plans appointments and meetings with the help providers,
- is in contact with the social-psychiatric associations in the region,
- writes down: What help is needed and what services are available?
- creates a guide for those seeking help.
The Weg-Weiser states, for example:
Who can help with mental illness?
Where can I find a self-help group?
