According to Schulz, the preparatory work for this in Reppner's Bay should be completed by the time the frost arrives. On Friday, December 20, the obligatory ground-breaking ceremony took place in the presence of Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel.

The entire population of Salzgitter and the surrounding area is already looking forward to the lake restaurant - a glass building covering an area of 1500 square meters with a sun terrace. The costs amount to around 1.5 million euros.

Once completed, 120 guests inside and up to a further 200 on the sun terrace will be able to enjoy food and drink as well as the magnificent view over the beach and lake as far as the Salzgitter mountain range.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily at affordable prices: Home-style cooking - from currywurst to steak.

According to Schulz, an operator has already been found. The concept for Salzgitter is based on models such as Pier 21 in Hanover, the Colombian pavilion at Allersee in Wolfsburg or the Café del Sol restaurant chain, which conveys a southern flair in a vacation atmosphere.

With its extensive range of sports, leisure and recreational facilities, Salzgittersee in the Lebenstedt district is the most popular lake in south-eastern Lower Saxony.

The water improves the quality of life, is right on the doorstep and the offer is wide, colorful and varied from fishing to diving, sailing to regatta rowing in all Olympic boat classes. Of course, you can also "just" swim in its waves and loll in the sun on the miles of sandy beaches or jog along the shore paths.
