Around 400 guests took part in the festive event in the Fredenberg auditorium. The Department for Integration and Securing Skilled Workers and the Citizens' Service for Migrants (BSfM) had organized a varied programme: Can Leman and band, belly dancer Fadima Jones and comedian Özcan Cosar provided an entertaining evening. Marcel Bürger, third mayor of the city of Salzgitter, welcomed the guests on behalf of the council and administration.
Seven proposals were received this year for the "Bunte Sole", from which a jury chose the flagship project "Kicken für KidSZ".
This is a soccer tournament that raises money for a good cause. The initiators used the donations to support children and youth projects in the Salzgitter region. Previously, the tournament took place once a year in the hall. Due to the great response, it was held outside for the first time this year. Around 2,200 spectators were on site. The organizers donated around 12,000 euros to various projects.
This was acknowledged by Dincer Dinc, integration guide for the city of Salzgitter, together with Kevin Anton from the City of Salzgitter's Integration and Skilled Labour Department, who thanked the "Kicken für KidSZ" organizing team of Olaf Rangosch, Kai Hettich, Sascha Kretschmer, Steffen Bussinus and Pascal Mosig. The immense voluntary commitment of the many helpers in Salzgitter was also acknowledged.
The laudatory speech for "Kicken für KidSZ" was given by Dincer Dinc, who hosted the evening together with Kevin Anton. Dincer Dinc emphasized that "Kicken für KidSZ" had achieved a lot in terms of play. The donations have helped many clubs and institutions and therefore many children from different cultures in Salzgitter.
The Citizens' Service for Migrants, which initiated the awarding of the Integration Prize, and the city of Salzgitter have honored volunteers with the Colorful Brine/Integration Prize for the sixth time. The award recognizes outstanding achievements that promote integration.
The integration prize was first awarded in 2013 to the couple Edith and Christel Otto Tietge. In 2014, the Mütterzentrum was honored. In 2015, the BC Tigers e.V. received this award. In 2016, the married couple Anne-Rose and Hans-Jürgen Kothe received the prize, endowed with 1,000 euros, for their commitment to helping refugees. Last year, "Jumpers" was honored with this award.
