Work will begin in Lebenstedt in Krähenriede with the streets "Bärentörn", "Isetöfte" and "Nordstraße". Work will begin after Easter on "Bärentörn" between "Wildkamp" and "Isetöfte". This section should be completed by mid-May 2019. The renovation of the second section of "Bärentörn" and "Isetöfte" will take place between the end of June and mid-July 2019.
The "Nordstraße" will be renovated between mid-May 2019 and mid-June 2019.
For the renovation work, the roads will have to be broken up by around twelve centimetres and rebuilt. All road surfaces will then be covered with an asphalt surface. In some cases, the gutter stones and some kerbs will have to be replaced.
In Salzgitter-Bad, construction work will begin at the beginning of May on "Am Greiffeld" and should be completed by mid-May.
The work in "Bergstraße" (between "Hinter dem Salze" and "Wiesenstraße") will be carried out in several sections in order to maintain access for the "Am Felsenkeller" residential area. The work is planned for mid-June to early July. The renovation work will also change the kerb line to protect the existing trees.
As a general rule, residents will receive a letter from the City of Salzgitter's Civil Engineering and Traffic Department with information and contact details for any questions before the renovation work begins in the affected streets. Residents of "Bärentörn" and "Isetöfte" will be informed in writing before Easter.
The following applies to all renovation work in the affected streets: The streets or sections will be fully closed for the duration of the work. There will be an absolute stopping ban. Residents with parking spaces on the properties will only be able to access them to a limited extent, depending on the progress of the work. Appropriate signage will be placed in the respective streets and the surrounding area.
The administration asks for your understanding that this renovation work is associated with restrictions for residents and passers-by.
The contact person during the construction period is site manager Gesa Belz from the City of Salzgitter's Civil Engineering and Traffic Department.
