Save energy and money with "clever heating"

"Optimizing the heating system is a relatively simple measure to avoid heat loss and thus save heating energy. Even small technical improvements can often achieve a lot," explains Gerhard Krenz from the Climate Protection and Energy Agency of Lower Saxony. Almost 60 percent of detached and semi-detached houses in Lower Saxony were built before 1979. In these buildings, the annual heating costs per square meter can be over 20 euros in the worst case, but if the buildings are very well insulated and the heating is running optimally, it can be as little as around four euros

The city of Salzgitter therefore offers the "clever heating" campaign as part of its climate protection concept: Together with the Climate Protection and Energy Agency of Lower Saxony and the Regionalen EnergieAgentur e.V., it is offering independent heating advice at home until May 15. "Our advisors inspect the heating system and check whether it is optimally adjusted, whether the system or system components should be replaced and which other improvement measures make sense. The owners then receive a brief report with the results of the analysis and recommendations for action," says Jan Holzenbecher, climate protection manager for the city of Salzgitter.

Information:

According to a survey by the Federal Association of the Energy Industry, around 53 percent of heating systems in Germany are 15 years old or older. The Federal Association of the German Heating Industry also comes to the conclusion that around 60 percent of heating systems in Germany are still insufficiently efficient. There is therefore a lot of potential for optimization in boiler rooms.

This costs just 10 euros (total value of the consultation is around 180 euros).
Anyone who would like advice (duration: approx. one hour) should contact the City of Salzgitter's climate protection manager, Jan Holzenbecher, on 05341 / 839-4141 or e-mail klimaschutzstadt.salzgitterde. Due to the current situation, appointments have not yet been made.

However, interested parties who register by May 16 will be informed as soon as the dates are available again.
