Steterkult association receives lighting system

In summer 2019, the town council approved the disposition fund for the Steterburg redevelopment area: This provides Steterburg with a budget to support measures by local residents, tradespeople, associations and institutions.

Eligible for funding are applications that, for example, promote coexistence and quality of life in the district as well as neighborly encounters and integration or enhance the cityscape. Applications that revitalize the district culture and involve different population groups can also be approved as a measure.

In addition to large spotlights, the lighting system also includes these small lighting objects. Lighting system for events subsidized

One purchase that could be realized through this fund is a mobile lighting system that the "Steterkult" association can use for its various events at different locations - including outdoors. The association's cultural program is varied, ranging from cabaret to concerts and festivals. The association's events are very popular with the people of Steterburg.

However, the lighting system will not only be used by members of "Steterkult" in the future. Anyone who lives in Steterburg and is planning an event can borrow and use the lighting system free of charge. To ensure that the system, which is not easy to operate, can be used by many people in the neighborhood for a long time, there will be an introduction to the technology before each loan. Steterkult members have been trained in its operation and will later teach other interested parties how to use the system safely.

"We are grateful to have the system," said Steterkult chairwoman and second chairwoman of the redevelopment advisory board, Ulrike Heilshorn. The association had helpful volunteer support when installing the system in the community center on Schulring.

Further applications welcome

So far, the people of Steterburg have submitted a wide variety of applications for the disposal fund, such as an art project in which electricity distribution boxes were painted by an artist. Two catering coffee machines were also purchased for events. They can also be borrowed for charitable parties and other events after prior instruction.

However, the budget for 2020 has not yet been exhausted. The Steterb
