Following the success of previous years, citizens have the opportunity to have their own home analyzed by an energy expert for 30 euros until 16 July.
Solar energy offers many opportunities. The solar suitability check provides information on this until July 16. This includes an analysis of the house that is to be used for solar energy. The house and its technology provide information on the feasibility of integrating solar power and solar heat. The usual energy consumption of the residents indicates how high the proportion of environmentally and climate-friendly, quiet and independent solar energy can be.
For the solar suitability check, an employee from the Lower Saxony consumer advice center comes to the home and analyzes the energy consumption and the condition of the roof (size, orientation, inclination and superstructure). The expert also gives tips on what to consider when converting the roof. She also provides information on the possibilities of applying for subsidies.
The solar check then forms the basis for further decisions by homeowners.
The one-hour consultation takes place by appointment with the climate protection manager of the city of Salzgitter, Jan Holzenbecher, phone 05341-839-4141, or e-mail jan.holzenbecherstadt.salzgitterde
The special feature: The personal contribution is only 30 euros (value of the consultation: 285 euros!).
When registering, homeowners can find out the details of the appointment with the consumer advice center employee, who can also identify herself at the on-site appointment.
If you would like to check in advance whether your own roof is suitable for solar use, you can do an initial check online at the solar roof atlas for the Braunschweig area (see below). However, this initial check does not replace a consultation.
The solar suitability checks are carried out as part of the implementation of the climate protection concept of the city of Salzgitter and are a joint project of the Consumer Advice Center of Lower Saxony, the Climate Protection and Energy Agency of Lower Saxony, the Regional Energy Agency e.V. Braunschweig and the city of Salzgitter.
The consultations are part of the energy advice provided by the consumer advice center and are funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
