To mark the 60th anniversary of the children's and youth camp, we are looking for citizens who would like to share their experiences.
60 years of the Neuwerk Youth and Education Camp: many children have spent their vacations on the small North Sea island to experience a lot together. Sports activities, excursions and beach adventures were just as much a part of it as the overnight stays and meals together in the large common room. Who can remember their holiday? What do you remember and what did you take home with you as a special experience? What was part of the program of the vacation camps? What was it like to stay on the island without cars and with few people?
The City of Salzgitter's children and youth development department is looking for people who would like to share their memories. A commemorative publication with personal impressions and/or photos is planned to honor this anniversary.
Everyone who took part in a Neuwerk camp organized by the city of Salzgitter is invited - be it 60 years ago or six years ago: Citizens who took part in a vacation camp as a child; volunteers who helped with the supervision; committed people who worked in the kitchen or at the camp.
Anyone who would like to share their experiences with other people is welcome to write or email. Photos that can be published are also welcome.
If you would like to find out more about the project in advance, please contact Ralf Hermann jugendarbeitstadt.salzgitterde or phone: 05341/839-3903.
Anyone who would already like to write down an experience is welcome to do so and send it to us at jugendarbeitstadt.salzgitterde.
