By mid-August, a two-room toilet block with a barrier-free disabled toilet is to be built here in a central location. Visually, the facility will be based on the façade of the Dormero Hotel and will have a green roof.

Use of the toilet facility is free of charge and open around the clock.

For the implementation of the projects, around 1.9 million euros with a funding rate of 90 percent will be made available to the city of Salzgitter from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as REACT-EU funds from the immediate action program "Perspektive Innenstadt!" as a measure of the European Union in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
