A new games app was launched at the start of the Easter vacations. It is called "Salzgitter Spürnasen" and invites young and old explorers alike on an adventure tour to the most beautiful and interesting places in Salzgitter. Embedded in exciting stories and accompanied by funny animal characters, the aim is to solve tricky puzzles, find the right path and master fun mini-games. The digital and real worlds almost merge. Of course, Salzgittersee is also included.
The Salzgitter Economic and Innovation Development Corporation would like to appeal primarily to children and families with children. Because children have the right to play. You don't just learn at school, but especially in life. The children from the Grundschule am See elementary school have combined the two, painting 15 benches and placing them outside between Cafe del Lago and the Helios Clinic. Each bench has a different motif on the theme of children's rights.
Many elementary school granted their pupils the right to exercise during the triathlon. "Triathlon macht Schule" is the name of the project, which aims to introduce youngsters to a strenuous but enormously self-confident sport. The magic word was "together". The Olympic distance of 1500 meters of swimming, 40 kilometers of cycling and 10 kilometers of running had to be completed as a class. All participants contributed their share in small laps until the total distance was reached.
After a six-year absence, the adults returned to the half Olympic distance in the Volkstriathlon. The record number of participants was probably the best illustration of how much the kings of the athletes had longed for the revival. The effort put in by SV Glück Auf Gebhardshagen was definitely worth it.
The flying days at Salzgittersee were also definitely worth it. Socializing at the food and drink stands or at the music stage, socializing in the sky or marveling at the gliders and motorized aerobatics with their daring and breathtaking figures. With Peter's help, the glowing balloons will also provide great photo opportunities again next year.
The motorhome parking area once again recorded very good figures. Especially in summer, it was one hundred percent full on many days. Motorhomers from all over Germany and even Europe paid a visit and never let Salzgitter's calling card out of their hands.
The baton is passing from one hand to another at Bäder, Sport und Freizeit GmbH. Wolfgang Philippsen's big shoes will be filled by his successor Mareike Mann in January 2023.
