The Advisory Council for People with Disabilities of the City of Salzgitter also took part in the supporting program with a stand in cooperation with the Federal Association of Self-Help for the Physically Disabled (BSK).
The advisory board presented itself with a wheelchair course, which led to a wheelchair driving license if successfully completed, but all participants were so skilled that everyone was actually able to receive a driving license.
The information stand provided information on the topic of disability.
In addition to the action plan published last year for the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) of the city of Salzgitter in simple language, the coloring pad with funny pictures on inclusion recently published by the advisory board was also presented to the public. It contains pictures of children with and without disabilities playing together.
The coloring pad can be downloaded from the municipal website (www.salzgitter.de) of the Advisory Council for People with Disabilities.
Printed copies were also handed out at the information stand. Everyone was given a small set of colored pencils so that they could start drawing straight away.
