Every day at the Graffiti children's and youth club (KJT), the children had the opportunity to get creative and play sports from 8 a.m. until the afternoon. Whether painting, crafting, playing outdoors or taking part in sporting competitions - the children always had the opportunity to discover new things and be active together.
The children were able to express themselves creatively, for example by coloring and painting T-shirts, designing stretcher frames or making bracelets. For children who like to be active, there were several soccer and table tennis tournaments on request. Roller skating and the dino cars were very popular. A table football table, table tennis table and pool table were also available indoors every day and were very popular.
There was a daily lunch break at 12.30 pm for refreshments. During this time, the children had the opportunity to eat the food they had brought with them and to help themselves to the daily changing snacks, such as vegetable sticks with quark or pizza snails.
Group activities such as playing Viking chess together also aroused great interest. New friendships were formed and the children's team spirit was strengthened.
Eleven-year-old Tom preferred the exercise activities. When swapping Yu-Gi-Oh playing cards, he declared confidently: "My favorite part was playing soccer in the gym!" Paula Maria also preferred the exercise-rich activities "I think it's great that there are the vehicles," she said. She "never gets bored here, 10 out of 10." Twelve-year-old Eileen, on the other hand, liked all the activities equally. She would particularly like to "chill out" with Tylene, one of the full-time employees.
The visit to the professional fire department in Lebenstedt was great fun for everyone involved, despite the light rain, and the many different ambulances and rescue vehicles in particular aroused the children's interest. At the end of the tour, they were allowed to ride on the professional fire department's rescue ladder. It was ten meters high, but some children would have liked to go even higher. "Higher! Higher!" and "Encore! Encore!" rang out across the fire station.
"I thought the fire department was really good," said Milow. Nine-year-old Mira added: "My favorite part was the ride on the turntable ladder!" Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time for a second round, but many of the children are already looking forward to the next summer vacation and hopefully another visit to the professional fire department...
