Around 60 quality certificates were awarded to businesses and tourism service providers by Lower Saxony's State Secretary (Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport and Building) Matthias Wunderling-Weilbier.
"We are proud to be able to continue to advertise our establishment as "Kinderferienland Niedersachsen" - our guests can see straight away that we are aware of the special needs of people with children during a vacation and have made it our mission to ensure that they have the best possible time," says Arne Homann, Director of the Municipal Museum. In order to achieve certification, the museum had to undergo an examination of criteria in the areas of service, safety and facilities - with success. It is now considered a particularly child- and family-friendly place and proudly bears the award from the Lower Saxony Ministry of Economic Affairs.
The museum has set itself the task of focusing on child-friendly and family-friendly offers - both in the permanent exhibition and at events or special exhibitions - in line with the city's motto "Promoting children and supporting families".
Certifications in Lower Saxony tourism
With the initiative "Kinderferienland Niedersachsen, ServiceQualität Deutschland and Reisen für Alle", the state government contributes to the sustainable improvement and strengthening of quality in tourism in Lower Saxony.
The "Kinderferienland Niedersachsen" certification has been offered by "TourismusMarketing Niedersachsen GmbH" in cooperation with the Lower Saxony travel regions since 2011. Tourist businesses can be certified in the categories of accommodation, discovery and experience as well as gastronomy. Prerequisites for the award are child-friendly facilities, safety aspects and a service that meets the needs of families. The quality criteria represent a minimum standard for a successful family vacation. Places can also be awarded for their family-friendly information and services.
More than 350 businesses and 8 towns in Lower Saxony already bear the quality seal.
