"The new year-round pool is a place for sport, play and relaxation - and we are delighted to finally be able to open it," says Annette Schudrowitz, Managing Director of Bäder, Sport und Freizeit Salzgitter GmbH. "I have goosebumps because today is a special day. The year-round pool is another piece in the mosaic and complements the Stadtbad's existing range of facilities," adds Clemens Löcke, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bäder, Sport und Freizeit GmbH.

The year-round pool is open Fridays to Sundays until the end of March. From April, it will then be available from Tuesdays to Sundays and will add additional water areas with a water temperature of around 28 °C to the existing pool facilities. On around 360 square meters, four 25-meter swimming lanes invite you to enjoy a sporty swim. The adventure area with bubble seats, neck bouncers and floor brodlers provides fun and relaxation. A special highlight is the "TrioSlide" slide, which delights young and old water rats alike.

The new year-round pool is another building block in the modernization of the Stadtbad. The former outdoor pool area was decommissioned back in 2015. From 2016, the indoor outdoor pool was converted into today's Stadtbad, which was opened in two construction phases in 2018 and 2019. The concept for the year-round pool was developed by the architectural firm Geising + Böker from Hamburg in collaboration with the engineering firm Wolff + Partner from Bremen. The new building was funded with around 1.9 million euros by the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Construction's "Renovation of municipal facilities in the areas of sport, youth and culture" program.
