The regulations of the Lower Saxony Building Regulations (NBauO) also apply to the removal of structures (demolition).

With the exception of high-rise buildings or a part of a structure not listed in the Annex to the Lower Saxony Building Regulations (NBauO), the demolition or removal of a structure does not require notification. High-rise buildings or a part of a structure not listed in the annex to the NBauO must be reported to the competent authority in accordance with Section 60 (3) NBauO.

Irrespective of this, the stability of neighboring buildings must be checked by the building owner if they are built next to each other or if the building ground gives reason to do so.
